CHEVERTON MEDIA / AGENCY FIELD GUIDE

A contact form check is not complete at “success.”

Use this short checklist to separate what the browser showed from what a designated person actually received. It is a method, not evidence that any particular client site works.

BEFORE AND AFTER THE TEST

Five checks worth recording.

  1. Agree on permission and a safe message.

Get the site owner's express permission for the exact path and one non-sensitive synthetic submission. Agree on the test destination and the person who will confirm receipt. Never use a real customer's message.

  2. Inspect the page before submitting.

Record the URL and time. Confirm the page loads, required fields have clear labels, the keyboard reaches each control, and the layout remains usable at a mobile width.

  3. Try one invalid input.

Check that the form explains what needs correction and puts the error where a keyboard or screen-reader user can find it. Do not infer inbox delivery from validation behavior.

  4. Submit the agreed synthetic message.

Only after permission, note the browser's actual response. A success screen proves a display state, not that an inbox, CRM or routing rule received the message.

  5. Confirm receipt and report the limit.

Ask the designated tester to confirm the matching message at the agreed destination. Record the result, time and any failure. If confirmation is unavailable, mark receipt unverified and identify the missing evidence.

WHEN YOU NEED AN EXTRA PAIR OF HANDS

One site, one agreed path, a reviewable report.

Cheverton Media proposes a $150 agency-branded pilot with a permitted form-to-receipt check. On an agreed editable static site, it may include up to 30 minutes of one approved minor repair; WordPress/CMS pilots are report-only. The optional $595/month plan covers up to five named sites after a separate agreement. Platform, access, test permission and collection must be confirmed before work starts.
